A little more than 20 years ago, I started lifting weights along with my martial arts training. I lifted weights almost daily and when I lifted, I lifted just as intensely as anyone! After years went by what I learned was that, although I was 100 percent committed, I wasn't growing much. I only weighed about 145 lbs when I started and had only gained a measly 15-20 lbs after several years of lifting weights!!! For a guy who stands at around 5'10", even at 160 lbs, I was pretty darn twiggy! And still, after a few more years, I gained only a few more pounds! I knew that I had to do something different... and fast. So, I began to read everything I could find. From my late twenties and into my early 30's, I read every magazine and book about muscle building and strength training that I could possibly get my hands on. As I trained and read article after article, I began to piece things together little by little. Soon I was building quick gains in muscle and getting stronger fast. After a little while I could, and still can, honestly say that I have reached every goal I have EVER had in fitness! I've done that over and over again. Actually, I've surpassed them to beyond what I would have ever expected.
I now weigh about 195 lbs and have power lifts that still surprise me. I keep setting new goals as a matter of principle, but I really have no real practical need for any more strength nor do I want much more muscle size at all.
A few years ago, I put myself through schooling once more through the highly esteemed and internationally recognized International Sports Sciences Association. I earned my Certified Fitness Trainer's status so that I could help people just like you to reach your fitness goals too.
